Messed up the whole ROM. Plz help

Hi everybody,
I am terribly sorry if I sound inexperienced and thus irritating. Please read my problem patiently. I've put it up in detail.

I had a few issues on my Mi 4i which had the latest official update installed on it. However, because there were many problems (Heating, battery drain, problems with notification LED), I thought I should downgrade it to an earlier version v 6.6.5.0 and downloaded the Global Stable .zip file, renamed it to update.zip, put it in the Internal Storage folder and ran the Recovery installation.
But it messed it up big time. After an hour of showing the progress bar, it finally restarted but then the screen got stuck at the boot screen (With the Mi logo, "mi.com" and "powered by android")
I tried to power off the device but it just kept restarting and getting stuck at the same point. So I let the battery drain completely so that it can switch off.
I tried switching it on again but the same thing repeats - It gets stuck at the booting screen.
I do not know what to do now. From what I saw on the internet since then, these are exactly what I've done so far:
1. I installed miflash.exe used to flash the phone using a fastboot file
2. I installed the Mi PC Suite
3. Promised to myself I'd never do stuff like this ever again without expert help.
4. I've been trying to download the .tgz files for a stable MIUI official ROM from the following links but they don't seem to work (Unable to figure out where else I can get them)
http://ift.tt/1XgW91g 00.19_5.0_global_742e5ee7c4.tgz
http://ift.tt/1P5VJ5k 00.14_5.0_global_a898bad3e6.tgz
[Unable to add links in the post because I'm a newbie]

Kindly help me, using layman steps if possible, to bring my phone back to life. I'd greatly appreciate the kind help!
