So I bought my shield tablet way back when they first came out. I rooted it on Kit Kat without unlocking the bootloader, then upgraded to Android 5.0, keeping root and keeping my bootloader locked.
I got super busy with school and I totally stopped keeping up to date with Android stuff. Long story short, I'm getting back into it and just found out about this recall. I have a ton of experience rooting Android tablets and phones, I've just been out of the game for about a year.
Does anyone know how I can update to the latest OTA, and keep root? I'm not against unlocking my bootloader if I need to. Also is it still possible to keep them from killing the old tablet when I get the new one? I have been reading around and I'm still confused wether or not it is still possible.
Thanks in advanced.
