Honor 5X gives its users multiple ways to update the software.
1. OTA Update:
If any updates are flagged for your mobile, it arrives as a notification in your mobile and you can update it.
2. Manual update: This can be done if you are not flagged for the software update.
- Visit http://ift.tt/1o6rGkm
- Select your country
- Click on support menu
- Enter your product name in quick search (or) Select your product from the dropdown and submit.
- Download the updates. It will be around 1.5 GB. So computer would be better.
- Then transfer it to your mobile via usb port (or) share it app.
- Then open your file explorer, open "internal memory" then create a folder called dload. Place the file inside.
- Then goto settings > updater > menu > local update
- If you are having issues accessing your phone from your pc you can make the same file transfer with an SDHC card, just create the dload folder in the sdhc and place the the file in it instead.
